Easter Swap

I made this card for a swap that I'm doing with some friends. The card is Pool Party, punched with a Martha Stewart lattice border punch. I added a 1.5" strip of Twitterpated DSP on the inside to peek through the lattice. You can see it here:

On the front of the card, I used a framelit to cut a large scalloped oval of Primrose Petals and embossed it with the polka dot folder. The image is an Inkadoo stamp. I stamped it once in Stazon black (you can't see it) and traced that image with Bashful Blue then used the next smaller framelit to cut it out of white card stock. I stamped the image again in Soft Suede on Barely Banana card stock to give it that straw look. I cut the basket out and, using the black stazon image as a guide, adhered it to the oval with dimensionals. I stamped the image again in Gumball Green on white and cut out just the contents and stuck that on the basket for the Easter "grass". Then I stamped the image once more in Soft Suede on white and colored in the eggs with various markers. When that was done, I cut out the eggs and stuck them as a final layer on the basket. A Pool Party ribbon completes the image.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny wishes and is stamped in Primrose Petals on white. It is punched with the Word Window punch and attached to a piece of Primrose Petal card stock punched with the Modern Label punch.

The little bunny is an embellishment that I found at Michael's.

Butterflies, Pearls and an Anniversary

I made this card for my friend's 30th wedding anniversary. I found the paper at Michaels, it's Recollections "Teal Butterflies". It seemed to scream for some SU Calypso Coral & Pool Party card stock. I embossed the Pool Party layer with butterflies and added some punched from Calypso Coral card stock and in-color DSP. To pop the butterflies up, the top half is on dimensionals, the bottom is just glue dots - it really made them stand out a bit. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny wishes set & is stamped with Midnight Muse. It is punched with the Word Window punch and then placed on a piece of Calypso Coral punched with the Modern Label punch. The ribbon is Tangerine Tango from the current Sale-a-bration catalog. Since the traditional gift for a 30th anniversary is pearl, there are orange pearls on the butterflies & the label.

Happy Valentines Day

Here's the card that I made for my hubby. The base is Cherry Cobbler, with a layer of white that was embossed with the SU Holiday Frame folder and the corners were punched with an EK corner punch that I borrowed from a friend. A scalloped Cherry Cobbler heart, with a small heart punched out of some Recollections paper is attached to the center. The "keys to my heart" are a Sizzix die cut out of some yellow glitter cardstock. Hope you have a great day.

Get well soon

I made this card for a friend who is having surgery this week. The card itself is Lucky Limeade that was embossed with the Lacy Brocade folder. I added a strip of Twitterpated DSP backed with a strip of Island Indigo. The image is a Stampendous Peanuts image. Linus is tending to Snoopy. I colored the image with various markers - mostly the same colors as are in the DSP. I spritzed it with Smooch Spritz (Vanilla Shimmer), then I backed it with some more Island Indigo and added a Mistletoe ribbon. I printed the sentiment out on the computer, attached it to yet another strip of Island Indigo that was punched with the Modern label punch and added some green pearls.

December Birthdays

I have two friends who have birthdays in December, one is on Christmas Day, the other is New Year's Eve. Having a December birthday myself, I try to make sure that December cards do not look anything in the slightest like a Christmas card. The card above I made for my friend whose birthday is coming up on Christmas. The card base is Island Indigo and the DSP came from the Festival of Prints designer pack. The turquoise glitter card stock and the ribbon are from my stash.
I stamped the Birthday cake from the Pretty Postage stamp set and combined it with one of the Four Frames and then punched it out with the Decorative Label punch. I used label framelits for the Island Indigo & turquoise backgrounds. The picot edging is also Island Indigo.
The card below has a Bone card base, and even though it looks bluer than the first card, it is also Island Indigo. The DSP layers come from both the 2011-2013 Designer Series pack and the Festival of Prints pack. The wavy edging in the center is in Island Indigo and is an EK punch. The stamped image is of the Split Rock Lighthouse in Minnesota. I picked up the stamp at the lighthouse when I visited there this past summer. The image is stamped using Stazon black on the bone card stock. I colored it with markers and sponged around the edge with Island Indigo.
I used the same layout for both cards, with slight variations. Since the card below is for a man, I didn't add any ribbon.

Holiday Hamster

Some friends of mine are really into hamsters. They told me that I needed to find some hamster stamps, so I did. The card base is Garden Green, topped by a layer of Snow Festival DSP. The large scalloped oval is Cherry Cobbler and the scallops are paper pierced. I stamped the hamster once on white, and once on a scrap of brown that I'm not sure exactly which brown it is. I colored the hamster in with markers, cut the antlers out of the brown cardstock, added glitter to the antlers to make them a little "fuzzy" and then stuck them on. Hopefully my friends will get a kick out of him.

O Christmas Tree

I used a plain white base for the card, then embossed it with the holiday frame folder. I used a scalloped oval framelet on the red glitter paper and centered it over the embossing. The Christmas tree with the presents is all one stamp. I stamped it with Stazon black then colored it in with markers. Then I cut the whole image out and added it to the front of the card with dimensionals.

I am adding this card to the Winter Wonderland "O Christmas Tree" challenge.
