Love is in the air

I missed last week's A La Card Monkey challenge because I was busy taking down and putting away a gazillion Christmas decorations. I made this card for this week's Monkey 91 challenge "A bundle of love":

This is actually the 2nd card that I made for this challenge - I got carried away the first time and the card ended up looking MUCH too busy. I did this one a lot simpler. The base card is Cherry Cobbler cardstock that I ran through the polka dot embossing folder (I just LOVE my new Big Shot!). The little heart paper is DCWV it's attached to a piece of white cardstock that I used my border punch on. I topped that with white satin ribbon then added the owl with his "balloons". The strings for the balloons are Cherry Cobbler/white baker's twine. The "I Love You" sentiment is from a stampabilities cube and then punched with the scalloped heart punch. This was then sponged with CC and mounted on another embossed heart that I cut out after running it through the Big Shot. The 24-7 is from the Perfect Postage stamp set and punched with the postage punch. Here's this week's sketch:

I'm also going to enter this in Princess Shirley's new Valentine Blog hop.

It just started this week and goes until Valentine's Day. Rules are simple:
1. Anything goes, card, 3D project, it just has to be Valentines.
2. Add the Hop to your Post, by using the code from Linky tools.
3. Add badge to post with a link to Shirley's blog.
4. Has to be a new post.

Thanks for looking.

  2. What a cute card! Love that little owl! Thanks for joining us at the Monkey this week!

  3. Very cute Valentine's card Marie. I love the little owl and his balloon greetings (that's what I see) especially the Perfect Postage greeting. TFS.

  4. Very Cute Marie!! Love the Owl. Great job in doing 2 challenges in ONE!! Thanks for doing the Valentine Blog Hop and A La Card Monkey!!

  5. Caution: The Big Shot is addicting! Soon it'll be hard to imagine a card without something embossed or diecut with it. I love the different edges and textures of your card. Very cool!

  6. Great card and I am with you I love the Big Shot. I love how the owl is holding the "balloons." It's all cute, cute stuff. Smiles, Elizabeth
