So this week's challenge over at ala card Monkey is something floral with ribbons to go with this sketch:
After pulling out a bunch of different floral papers and waiting to be "inspired", I came up with this:
There's a lot going on with this card. The background is a glittery flower card stock, then I went with that theme for the rest of it. Underneath the silk flowers, I stamped some leaves and flowers with Wild Wasabi and Rose Red inks, then I sponged Certainly Celery around the edges and even over the others to add some depth. Here's a close-up of the flower:
So you can see the work behind it. The flower itself is 3 layers with a little pink rosebud in the center.
Hi Marie!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you're up for another Monkey Challenge. You've got a lot of detail in your card - terrific! Did you color the silk flowers, or did they come like that?
Hugs,
Terry
Great card. Very colourful and lots of detail. TFS!
ReplyDeleteThe silk flowers came that way, all I did was layer them up and add a silk rosebud.

Great detail in your flower! It really makes it stand out! Beautiful colors and I can see the glittery paper sparkling through.

This is such a spring-y card! Love those silk flowers. Also love how you threaded the ribbon through your cs. I must try that sometime.
