Summer is Baseball

For the last 40+ years, summertime has meant baseball to me. Whether I'm sitting in the stands or at home in front of the TV, I'm watching baseball from April until October. So when this week's A La Card Monkey Challenge came along with the theme of summer and a sketch, how could I NOT have a baseball themed card? The baseball mitts are stamps from the Toy Box stamp set. The baseballs are brads that I found at Joann's. The sentiment is from the Vintage Labels set. The card itself is a crumb cake base. The 4 rectangles are Ice Cream Parlor and Tea Party DSP layered on top of Early Espresso card stock (all of which were distressed.)

The sentiment is stamped in Real Red and sponged with the same. The oval behind is crumb cake sponged with Early Espresso. The edge of the baseball diamond was stamped with chocolate chip. This card will be perfect for a friend of mine who is equally fond of baseball. The original sketch is below:

  1. Wow Marie! You did a great job with the baseball theme. I love all the distressing, the baseballs and mitts! Thanks for playing.
